After exiting Death Valley we headed north towards Lassen Volcanic, but decided to stop off at Mono Lake on the way. Mono Lake is a desert lake with a high concentration of salts, which results on the below features, as well as a unique ecosystem in the area. Depending on the time of year you’ll notice that there are millions of birds all around the lake… literally.
There isn’t a whole lot to see here, but if you’re driving through the area it’s worth taking the time to stop. It won’t take more than an hour or two out of your day.
