While down in CA for a certification training I met a nice, young, and beautiful lass who agreed to take me out on a hike along the coast… you know, since there’s nothing safer than taking a complete stranger on a hike out into the middle of nowhere. Fortunately my rugged good looks and charm disarmed her natural defenses, and I was able to hike along the Palos Verdes coastline.
The trail she chose wasn’t necessarily hard, but it was surprisingly difficult in a few short sections. You essentially face all of your elevation gain in a matter of a quarter mile stretch, which consists of several loose-dirt switchbacks. Thankfully I was completely in shape and not fat and misshaped at all, and was able to tackle it like a man, without breaking so much as a sweat in the process. If you happen to see what appears to be sweat in the pictures, it’s only because I showered myself with several bottled waters… because you know, it’s sexy.
One odd thing about the hike is that it starts at the Trump National Golf Course… I would try to explain the type of people I saw golfing there, but why ruin the surprise? That being said, parking is free, so don’t be fooled into paying for parking at the golf course. You’ll find the trail parking to the side.
Great hike for some quick exercise that offers amazing costal views!
